The story so far

Coverley Woodwork was founded in 2023 by Daniel Coverley- the exciting new venture is the union of a twenty year career in carpentry, met with a strong desire to do things differently- sustainably, ethically, and benefitting the next generation.
Daniel spent his first fifteen years in the construction industry working across the UK, building log cabins for domestic and commercial clients. His next step was into high end, large scale, oak framed buildings, including the UK's first oak-framed Passivhaus. This project sparked Daniel's imagination and a lifelong passion for sustainability, influencing his next roles restoring heritage buildings with time-honoured techniques and 'of-the-place' materials.
As he continued to work on green wood buildings, Daniel studied for his BA (Hons) Business Management degree through the pandemic as a mature student, graduating in November 2022. He worked for his University throughout, managing tree planting and other sustainable projects, winning the University Sustainability Award and being published in materials for the United Nations.
During this time, Daniel started mentoring young people from challenging backgrounds, sharing his passion for carpentry and woodwork with his students and mentees. He worked on creating disability access to local resources, and taught carpentry in a school for challenging behaviour, sharing his enthusiasm for the craft and its creative and career potential, building relationships and opening career doors for his students.
As of 2023, Coverley Woodwork is enthusiastic to meet with positive, forward-thinking partners to deliver excellent, authentic carpentry projects, framing services, site management, mentorship and teaching roles. From small freelance carpentry projects, to ongoing multi-faceted building management roles- let's have the conversation and see if Coverley Woodwork can exceed your expectations.
Coverley Woodwork is proud to be a family-run business, with Daniel at the helm, Lizzi managing administration, and the four-legged Coverley girls providing moral support and (perhaps most importantly) biscuit management!
